Hello everyone, from now on there will be a monthly newsletter to be found here in the private pages section to let you know what is coming up including examination information, you can check if you/ your child has been reccommended for the next exam period and view important dates.
What's new this year:
***We will be doing the Mansfield Music and Drama festival this year entering pupils in the solo catagories for singing and instruments. 2010 Season: 23th April to 2nd May.
(Entries close: 20th February 2010)
Festival Concert: Palace Theatre, Mansfield, 9th May.
It's open to both children and adults. See www.mmdf.org.uk for more information. If you would like to perform something please let me know.
***Pre school private music lessons and classes. For babies children from three months, please see the new section on the left hand tool bar for more information.
*** I am now teaching clarinet, saxophone, cornet and trumpet as I feel I have gotten to a suitable level.
***I am looking at various venues to hold at least two concerts this year so pupils can get together and showcase their hard work, It's important for them to have the opportunity to perform both alone and with other pupils.
***Theory week. This is something I did in Berkshire which was very successful. Once a month on a Saturday/Sunday I will be holding theory classes and private lessons for extra theory work. We often don't have enough time in the lessons to be able to spend a decent amount of time on theory. It is aimed at pupils who have started the ABRSM examinations as after Grade 5 you have to have passed Grade 5 theory to be able to continue above that practical grade. Costs will depend on how many there are in your group but it wont be as expensive as regular private lessons, I think three in a group would be best. Here are a list of my suggested groups, can you let me know if you're interested, which day would be better for you or you think I may have missed your name off the list! Please note you have to have learnt everything from Grade one but I don't normally enter pupils until grade 3.
Grade One: Zoe, Eleanor, Vicki, Nisha, Emmy, Sinead, Melanie, Penny, Miriam Ester and siblings.
Grade Two/Three: Kelleigh, Sarah F.
The first one will be the weekend of the 30th/31st January so please let me know asap if you're interested.
